Vermont Quilt Design has partnered with the Reston, VA, Relay For Life to design
and donate a 25th Anniversary commemorative t-shirt quilt to raffle off as one
of the fundraisers supporting the Reston Relay.
Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature activity. It offers
everyone in a community an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer.
Teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take
turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a
representative on the track at all times during the event. Relays are an overnight
event, up to 24 hours in length. Learn more at
What is Relay for Life?
We believe in the importance and impact of Relay and chose to support the Reston
Relay because Allison is on the Reston Relay committee. The Reston Relay committee
is charged with organizing and the running all facets of the Reston Relay. The
Reston Relay For Life will be on May 30-31, 2009 at South Lakes High School in
Reston, Virginia. For more information, go to the

About the 25th Anniversary Commemorative Design
Kay used past Relay t-shirts to make an original design couch- or lap-size
quilt in commemoration of the 25th Anniversary of Relay For Life. Altough it is
not possible to make the exact pattern available (all t-shirts are different), the
VQD team has put together general instructions to help folks start their own
projects using t-shirts. Please see the right sidebar for more information. And
look for raffle tickets in the coming months! We're excited to be working with
this phenomenal organization because of the lifesaving work they have accomplished
over the last 25 years!
