Vermont Quilt Design can help you design the perfect project for any occasion.
The custom design process starts with the
custom design questionnaire. By
filling out and submitting this form, we'll be able to better undersand your
goals and needs. We will review the questionnare and be in touch to discuss
the project in more detail.
The standard design package includes color recommendations, the design pattern,
and a color image showing that design in those colors. We charge a design fee
of $35 for each project and work hard to make sure that the pattern is accurate
and helpful. Your success is our top priority.
The deluxe package includes everything from the standard package and adds
instructions for construction of your project. The fee for this additional
service will depend on the complexity of your project. We charge $20 per hour
to write the instructions and will give you an estimate after we’ve finalized
the initial layout.
The cost of custom designs is kept low because we love working with people on
new and interesting projects. In order to support these low prices, Vermont
Quilt Design retains the rights to all custom designs.
Custom designs may become part of the portfolio that Vermont Quilt Design
offers for sale on the website. In order to respect the uniqueness of a custom
design, no pattern will be sold for at least one year after the design is
complete. Additionally, the client who commissioned the project shares in the
profits, collecting 10% of every sale as an idea fee. Idea fees are paid once
per year in January.
